Nice to meet you! I’m Daffy.

I know that it can be hard to find the right therapist. There are so many of us out there so how do you choose?

So let me tell you a bit about me to help you make that choice.

I started my psychotherapy career as a volunteer of the bereavement team in St.Christopher’s hospice. I also experienced a traumatic loss myself as a child and that is why I am particularly drawn to supporting clients throughout bereavement, as I know how difficult it can be to lose a loved one.

However Counselling was not my first career! I first trained and worked in childcare and education. Now especially after having my own child, the two blend together very naturally in my work. My greatest passion as a therapist and as a mother is to prevent mental health issues from the beginning rather than just to treat Them later in life.

I find it incredibly rewarding to work with parents in my parenting consultancy service, in couple counselling and individually and also with teenagers and young adults. To see the difference therapy can make in someone’s life in their most important relationships - it’s incredible! So working with new parents, expecting parents and really all parents and helping them form that secure attachment with their children is what I love the most about my work.  I use attachment based therapy and psychodynamic approach for the majority of the work with my clients as I believe that this gives the biggest insight on our relationship patterns and the awareness of that can help us develop healthier ways to relate to others.
