I am a professional counsellor trained to work using an integrative approach. This means that I will use a few different approaches in our therapy sessions (CBT, Person Centered, Psychodynamic), which come with their own set of tools (meditation, therapeutic writing, inner child work). Below you can find more about each method.
Individual Therapy
-
Behavioural therapies are centered around understanding how we think (cognitive) and/or the way we behave. These therapeutic approaches recognise that it is possible to change, or recondition, our thoughts or behaviour to overcome specific problems.
-
Also known as client-centered counselling, a humanistic approach. It explores the ways individuals perceive themselves consciously, rather than how a counsellor can interpret their unconscious thoughts or ideas.
-
Psychodynamic therapies look at how your unconscious thoughts and perceptions developed throughout your childhood, and how this may affect your current behaviour and thoughts. Unlike other forms of therapy, these aim to help create deep-seated change in your emotional development. Helping you to understand and resolve your problems by increasing your awareness of your inner self and how this can influence your relationships.
-
Aims to reconnect us with the present moment to alleviate stress. It also helps us to feel more attuned with our emotions and generally more aware of ourselves both mentally and physically.
-
A process of investigation about personal thoughts and feelings using the act of writing as an instrument, with the aim of promoting self-healing and personal growth.

Item description
In my sessions I will offer you some time and place to concentrate on yourself and your needs, to reflect, heal and build your confidence and motivation. We might explore your background, your defense mechanisms and traumas from the past. I work with my clients with a great deal of honesty and believe that the relationship between us is one of the most important aspects of therapy. I will not just listen to your problems but give you my observations and reflections and will guide you through the process of healing and finding your true self.
